Job Description

Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: Minimum 12 – 15 years in Design of Pumping Stations, Piping, steel tanks, Pipeline etc. Must have UAE Consultancy Experience

Location: Abu Dhabi

Roles and Responsibilities:

The candidates should have experience in the following;

• Experience in TRANSCO, ADDC, AADC design projects is a must
• Detailed design works for Potable Water pump stations, Irrigation, Sewage and Storm water pumping stations and piping systems.
• Experience in STP, RO Desalination plants and Hypochlorination systems, tanker filling stations, fire pump stations, surge vessels, compressed air systems etc
• Develop plot piping layouts for underground and above ground piping, detailed piping general arrangement drawings, sections, pipe support details, piping schematics, piping isometrics, MTOs, Valve chamber, cost estimate etc.
• Experience in design of various types of piping materials – Carbon Steel, Ductile Iron, HDPE, GRE etc and well conversant with various types of valves ,selection criteria, application ,materials etc.
• Carry out pipe wall thickness calculation, Tank sizing, Wet Well sizing, NPSH calculation, pressure drop calculations, pump head calculations
• Experience in Piping Stress Analysis, Preparation of Design basis, Design reports, Piping Material Specifications
• Experience is Tender preparation, Tendering procedures, Tender Clarification, Tender bid Evaluation
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, oversee project teams.
• Carry out technical analysis and feasibility studies
• Review shop drawings, design calculations, review supplier drawings and material submittals
• Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD Designers, BIM Modellers, and Engineers
• Review and resolve technical queries and manage changes related to design
• Ensure coordination of Mechanical systems with other project components and disciplines
• Experience in industrial HVAC, Water Supply, Firefighting systems ,Drainage system will be added advantage
• Experience in engineering specifications, design validation and design review works.

Skills:

• Lead and manage mechanical Design projects.
• Good knowledge of local and international design standards and codes like ASME/API/BS/DIN etc.
• Shall be well aware of safety and environments aspects in design.
• Working within the budget to deliver on time.
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
