Shell Deutschland Oil GmbH is part of the Shell Group and represents Shell’s long-standing energy and downstream activities in Germany. Shell has operated in Germany since 1902, with major activities covering the production, processing, marketing and distribution of energy and petroleum products, fuels, lubricants, chemicals and newer lower-carbon energy solutions. Its German operations include fuel retailing, fleet and mobility services, electricity and gas, renewable-energy solutions, lubricants, research and development, and refinery/chemical activities. Shell’s principal German corporate presence is in Hamburg, while major operational locations include the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rheinland in the Cologne region, the Lubricants Hub Hamburg, and the Shell Technology Centre Hamburg. Shell reports approximately 4,800 employees in Germany, with many based in Hamburg and at the Rheinland site.
