Refinery Operations Manager
Job Description
The Refinery Operations Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of refinery production activities. The role provides leadership to operations teams and ensures that production targets are achieved while maintaining strict safety and environmental standards. The manager oversees operating performance, resource allocation, process stability, and coordination with maintenance and technical functions. The position plays a key role in operational excellence, incident prevention, cost control, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage day-to-day refinery operations to achieve safe and reliable production.
Ensure compliance with operational procedures, process safety requirements, and HSE standards.
Monitor production performance, plant conditions, quality, efficiency, and operating costs.
Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to minimize production interruptions.
Lead operational response to plant upsets, emergencies, and abnormal operating conditions.
Manage and develop operations personnel through coaching, training, and performance management.
Support refinery shutdowns, turnarounds, start-ups, and major operational projects.
Review operating data and implement initiatives to improve productivity and energy efficiency.
Ensure effective communication between operations, maintenance, technical, HSE, and management teams.
