Job Description

The HSE Officer is responsible for supporting and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance across company operations. The role involves identifying workplace hazards, conducting inspections, supporting risk assessments, and promoting safe working practices among employees and contractors. The officer works closely with operational teams and management to ensure compliance with applicable HSE regulations, company policies, and environmental standards. The position also contributes to incident prevention, emergency preparedness, employee training, and continuous improvement of the company’s HSE culture.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct regular workplace inspections and identify potential health, safety, and environmental hazards.
Support risk assessments, job safety analyses, and implementation of appropriate control measures.
Monitor compliance with company HSE policies, procedures, legal requirements, and applicable standards.
Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and environmental events.
Prepare incident reports and support root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Conduct or coordinate HSE training, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and employee awareness programs.
Monitor the safe handling, storage, use, and disposal of chemicals, hazardous materials, and industrial waste.
Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills, evacuation procedures, and emergency response planning.
Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, training documentation, permits, and compliance records.
Work with employees, contractors, supervisors, and management to promote continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance.
