Biomedical Equipment Technician (ICU/NICU)

Job Description

The Biomedical Equipment Technician (ICU/NICU) is responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing critical medical equipment used in intensive care and neonatal intensive care units. The technician ensures that life-support devices remain safe, reliable, and fully operational. The role works closely with clinical staff to minimize equipment downtime and support high-quality patient care. Maintaining compliance with hospital safety standards and manufacturer guidelines is a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
Inspect, calibrate, and maintain ICU and NICU medical equipment.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on life-support systems.
Troubleshoot equipment failures and complete timely repairs.
Install and commission new biomedical devices.
Maintain maintenance records and equipment service documentation.
Coordinate with equipment vendors for warranty repairs and servicing.
Train healthcare staff on the proper use of biomedical equipment.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and accreditation standards.
