Biomedical Engineer

Job Description

The Biomedical Engineer supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of medical equipment and healthcare technology within the hospital.
The role is responsible for equipment installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair coordination, and performance evaluation.
The engineer works with clinical departments, equipment suppliers, and maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime.
The position also contributes to equipment procurement, technical evaluation, compliance, and lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect, test, maintain, and troubleshoot medical and biomedical equipment.
Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for hospital medical devices.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate timely corrective maintenance.
Assist with installation, commissioning, acceptance testing, and calibration of new equipment.
Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, inspections, and service history.
Coordinate with vendors and authorized service providers for technical support and repairs.
Evaluate technical specifications and assist with the selection and procurement of medical equipment.
Ensure biomedical equipment complies with applicable safety, operational, and hospital standards.
Train clinical staff on the safe and appropriate operation of medical equipment when required.
Monitor equipment performance, identify recurring faults, and recommend replacement or improvement measures.
