Fleet Manager
Job Description
The Fleet Manager is responsible for managing vehicle fleets throughout their operational lifecycle, from acquisition and deployment to maintenance and replacement.
The role ensures that fleet vehicles remain safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective for business operations.
The manager coordinates maintenance schedules, vehicle utilization, suppliers, drivers, and fleet-related documentation.
Strong analytical, financial, organizational, and automotive knowledge is required to optimize fleet performance.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the company’s fleet portfolio and daily fleet operations.
Monitor vehicle utilization, availability, mileage, and operating costs.
Develop preventive maintenance and servicing schedules.
Coordinate repairs, inspections, registrations, and vehicle compliance.
Monitor vehicle downtime and identify opportunities for improvement.
Manage relationships with workshops, suppliers, leasing companies, and service providers.
Track fuel consumption, maintenance expenses, and other fleet costs.
Maintain accurate fleet records and documentation.
Support vehicle acquisition, replacement, disposal, and lifecycle planning.
Establish and monitor fleet safety procedures.
Prepare fleet performance reports and operational analyses.
Identify opportunities to improve fleet efficiency and reduce total operating costs.
