Job Description

The Trading Analyst supports BP Europa SE’s energy trading activities through market analysis, data interpretation, and commercial insight. The role involves monitoring energy markets, analyzing price movements, and evaluating market opportunities and risks. The analyst works closely with traders, commercial teams, risk specialists, and other stakeholders to provide accurate and timely information. The position contributes to informed trading decisions through quantitative analysis, reporting, and market intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor European energy, oil, gas, power, and related commodity markets.
Analyze market prices, supply-demand fundamentals, trading patterns, and market trends.
Prepare daily and periodic market reports for trading and commercial teams.
Develop analytical models to support trading strategies and decision-making.
Track portfolio performance, exposures, and relevant market indicators.
Collaborate with traders to identify market opportunities and potential risks.
Analyze historical and real-time market data to identify trends and anomalies.
Support pricing, forecasting, scenario analysis, and commercial evaluations.
Work with risk and finance teams to ensure accurate trading-related reporting.
Present analytical findings and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders.
