Parts Manager

Job Description

The Parts Manager oversees the sourcing, ordering, storage, distribution, and inventory management of automotive parts and accessories.
The role ensures that workshops and customers have access to the correct parts at the required time.
The manager is responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels while controlling costs, minimizing obsolete stock, and improving parts availability.
The position requires strong organizational, supplier-management, inventory-control, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day parts department operations.
Maintain accurate inventory levels and stock records.
Order genuine and approved replacement parts from suppliers.
Monitor stock movement, availability, and lead times.
Coordinate parts requirements with workshop and service teams.
Manage supplier relationships and negotiate commercial terms where applicable.
Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory.
Ensure correct storage, labeling, and handling of parts.
Monitor parts sales, margins, purchasing costs, and departmental performance.
Train and supervise parts department employees.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety requirements.
