Cybersecurity Specialist
Job Description
The Cybersecurity Specialist is responsible for protecting organizational systems, applications, networks, and data against security threats and vulnerabilities. The role involves monitoring security environments, identifying risks, supporting security assessments, and helping implement appropriate controls. The specialist works with IT, engineering, DevOps, and business teams to promote secure technology practices. The position also contributes to incident response, security compliance, vulnerability management, and security awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor systems and networks for potential security threats and suspicious activity.
Identify, assess, and prioritize cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation activities.
Assist with security incident detection, investigation, response, and recovery.
Implement and maintain security controls, policies, and procedures.
Support identity, access management, authentication, and authorization practices.
Review applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments for security weaknesses.
Maintain security logs, documentation, reports, and incident records.
Collaborate with IT, engineering, DevOps, and business teams on security initiatives.
Support security audits, compliance requirements, and risk assessments.
Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats and recommend appropriate preventive measures.
