Instrument & Control Systems Engineer

Job Description

Qatargas is looking for an Instrument & Control Systems Engineer to maintain and optimize instrumentation and automation systems supporting LNG production and gas processing operations. The role involves ensuring the reliability of field instruments, distributed control systems (DCS), safety instrumented systems (SIS), PLCs, and process control equipment. The engineer works closely with operations and maintenance teams to improve plant performance and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. The position contributes to continuous system improvements, troubleshooting, and modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities
Design, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems.
Support DCS, PLC, SIS, and SCADA system maintenance activities.
Perform calibration, testing, and commissioning of field instruments.
Investigate instrumentation failures and implement corrective actions.
Participate in plant shutdowns, maintenance activities, and system upgrades.
Review engineering drawings, control philosophies, and instrumentation specifications.
Ensure compliance with IEC, ISA, and company engineering standards.
Prepare technical reports, maintenance documentation, and engineering recommendations.
