Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

The Mechanical Design Engineer develops and improves mechanical components and systems used in elevator and building transportation solutions. The role involves converting engineering requirements into practical designs while considering performance, safety, manufacturability, and cost. The engineer works with product development, manufacturing, sourcing, and testing teams throughout the design lifecycle. The position also supports design verification, engineering changes, and continuous product improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
Prepare 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
Apply engineering specifications, design standards, and safety requirements.
Perform design calculations and support engineering analysis activities.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
Participate in prototype development, testing, and design validation.
Investigate mechanical design problems and develop engineering solutions.
Manage engineering changes and update drawings and product documentation.
Work with suppliers to review component specifications and technical requirements.
Support cost reduction, material optimization, and product improvement initiatives.
