Financial Analyst

Job Description

The Financial Analyst provides financial analysis and business insight to support informed decision-making across bp. The role involves analyzing financial performance, budgets, forecasts, costs and business trends. The analyst works with finance and business teams to explain performance and identify opportunities for improvement. bp identifies finance as part of its corporate-functions career area.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare financial reports, forecasts and management analysis.
Analyze revenue, costs, margins and business performance.
Support annual budgeting and financial-planning activities.
Investigate variances between actual and planned performance.
Develop financial models and scenario analyses.
Provide data-driven insights to business and finance leaders.
Monitor key financial and operational performance indicators.
Support month-end and management-reporting processes.
Validate financial data and maintain analytical models.
Collaborate with accounting, commercial and operational teams.
Identify cost-saving and business-improvement opportunities.
Present financial findings clearly to relevant stakeholders.
