Drilling Engineer
Job Description
The Drilling Engineer supports the planning, engineering, execution, and optimization of drilling and well activities. The role focuses on developing safe, technically robust, and cost-effective well designs for offshore oil and gas operations. The engineer works with drilling contractors, service companies, subsurface specialists, and operations teams throughout the well lifecycle. The position also contributes to well integrity, performance improvement, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed drilling programs, well designs, and engineering documentation.
Support planning and execution of offshore drilling, completion, and well-intervention activities.
Perform casing, cementing, hydraulics, torque-and-drag, and well-control calculations.
Evaluate drilling risks and develop appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.
Coordinate with drilling contractors, service providers, and offshore operations teams.
Monitor drilling performance, costs, schedules, and operational KPIs.
Provide technical support during drilling and well operations.
Ensure well designs comply with company standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
Support well integrity management throughout the operational lifecycle.
Investigate drilling problems and recommend engineering solutions.
Participate in post-well reviews and capture lessons learned for future campaigns.
