Hardware Design Engineer

Job Description

The Hardware Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving electronic hardware used in Barco’s professional visualization and display solutions. The role involves translating product requirements into reliable hardware architectures and detailed circuit designs. The engineer works closely with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and product teams throughout the development lifecycle. The position also supports prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and product validation to ensure high-quality and commercially viable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop electronic circuits, PCB assemblies, and hardware architectures.
Translate product specifications and customer requirements into hardware designs.
Perform schematic capture, component selection, and design calculations.
Develop prototypes and support hardware bring-up and debugging activities.
Conduct signal integrity, power integrity, thermal, and reliability assessments.
Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams.
Perform design verification, validation, and compliance testing.
Troubleshoot hardware failures and implement corrective design improvements.
Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and engineering reports.
Support design reviews and contribute to continuous product improvement.
