IT Project Manager
Job Description
Role Objective
The incumbent will assist the Section Head – Business Solutions in effective management of the Digital Solutions & IT projects in close liaison with the respective stakeholders. The incumbent will assist in the planning, and execution of DS&IT projects in line with the project objectives, approved quality standards, and time/ budget specification, and other internal guidelines/ best practices. The incumbent will define project scope / deliverables in coordination with the functional units and management, and will manage project dependencies, track project milestones and deliverables and resolve key project issues, in accordance with internal guidelines.
Educational and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering or any other related technical discipline.
- Professional certification such as PMP/ Prince 2 is mandatory
- 08-12 years of total experience in financial services/banking industry, entailing responsibilities pertaining to the specific area of discipline.
- Experience in handling IT PMO
Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the DSIT projects have clearly defined time bound objectives with quantifiable indicators, in line with the corporate objectives and PMO guidelines.
- Lead project planning, execution, and delivery in accordance with predetermined timelines and budgets.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Allocate resources, assign tasks, and monitor progress to ensure project objectives are met.
- Work closely with the respective stakeholders in carrying out project-based risk management process, including but not limited to risk assessment/ analysis, and reporting, and to achieve alternate ways or mitigation plans.
- Identify project problem/issue and, update the Section Head / management on critical issues confronting projects and suggest action plans for mitigation.
- Prepare vital communications/ dashboard for the management and other relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to requirements documentation and project presentations, project analysis, resource utilization forecasts/ allocation, budget/ status reports, etc.
- Communicate project status, issues, and resolutions to stakeholders through regular status reports and meetings.
- Liaise with the respective stakeholders in identification of possible difficulties, and in developing exigency plans for proactive management of amendments within the project scope of work.
- Keep abreast of and suggest incorporation up-to-date project management techniques and industry best practices and tools, as applicable.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
- Follow the audit, compliance and procedural control measures set by the management.
- Contribute towards/ manage all process improvement/ quality enhancement initiatives within the unit.
- Maintain highest standards of confidentiality, professional conduct, ethics and integrity in the provision of services in the unit.
