HSE / Compliance Officer

Job Description

The HSE / Compliance Officer supports bp’s commitment to safe, responsible and compliant operations across its business activities. The role focuses on health, safety, security, environmental and regulatory requirements. The officer works with operational teams to identify risks, implement controls and improve compliance performance. bp identifies HSSE as an important area within its engineering and operations career structure.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement HSE policies, procedures and compliance standards.
Conduct workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments.
Identify hazards and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Monitor compliance with applicable environmental and safety regulations.
Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances.
Maintain HSE records, reports and compliance documentation.
Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
Provide HSE guidance and awareness training to employees and contractors.
Track corrective and preventive actions through to completion.
Support environmental performance and sustainability initiatives.
Communicate HSE performance and significant risks to management.
Promote a strong safety culture across operational teams.
