Key responsibilities:
As our Operations Superintendent, your main responsibility is to oversee ship management for assigned vessels, including spanning safety & environment, financial, marine & technical, procurement, crewing, and regulatory compliance. Leading a multi-disciplinary fleet management cell (IOT) is integral to their role.
- Lead individual Integrated Operating Team (IOT) to optimize IOT performance and maximize assigned fleet utilization within budget targets, ensuring compliance with safety and local regulations.
- Keep responsibility for vessel and all kinds of status and activities pertaining to operations, such as planned maintenance, dry docking, mobilization/demobilization, modifications, and warm stack/cold stack.
- Establish and maintain client relationships to ensure satisfaction and support business objectives.
- Manage a multi-disciplinary Integrated Operating Team (IOT) covering operations, marine services, technical services, safety, procurement, crewing, admin, finance, and commercial contracts.
- Monitor IOT performance and maintain high operational standards, through possessing an authority to onboard or offboard IOT members when necessary.
- Develop and uphold competency standards for IOT members.
- Support in defining the recruitment requirements and training of IOT personnel, in coordination with the Fleet Manager.
- Ensure that IOT complies with the regulations of the organization, such as any HSE, risk management, ESG, procurement, crewing, finance, or any other company regulation or policy.
- Oversee HSE management protocols within their IOT, ensuring compliance and implementation.
- Work with the Marine Manager to ensure that skilled deck officers, engineers, and ratings are deployed to operate company assets proficiently.
- Oversee budget management to ensure financial control and accountability.
- Ensure the adoption and utilization of the AMOS system across capable vessels.
- Maintain direct communication with the Master on vessel activities, involving IOT and team members in decision-making, with Operations
- Superintendent’s authorization for subordinates to act/decide independently.
Minimum requirements and qualifications:
- Master onboard company vessels for 3 years
- Unlimited Master Mariner Certificate of Competency (COC)
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine, or other related field
- Five years’ experience in the maritime, or similar industry, in a fleet management position.
- Working experience in GCC is a plus
