Buyer – SSU BIW (Sheet Metal Sourcing)

Job Description

The Buyer will manage sourcing and procurement activities for Sheet Metal and BIW-related components within the SSU procurement function.
The role involves supplier identification, quotation analysis, commercial negotiations, cost optimization, and purchase order management.
The position will work closely with engineering, quality, production, and supplier development teams to ensure material availability.
The buyer will also support localization, supplier performance improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage sourcing activities for BIW and sheet metal components as per project requirements.
Identify, evaluate, and develop suitable suppliers for assigned commodities.
Obtain and analyze supplier quotations, cost breakdowns, and commercial proposals.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, tooling costs, and other commercial conditions.
Support supplier selection based on cost, quality, capacity, technology, and delivery capability.
Coordinate with engineering and quality teams for technical and supplier evaluations.
Monitor supplier performance related to cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
Support localization and alternate-source development for critical components.
Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and productivity improvement initiatives.
Manage purchase orders, sourcing documentation, commercial approvals, and supplier records.
