Kernex Microsystems is seeking a Safety-Critical Embedded Firmware Architect to design and develop reliable firmware solutions for mission-critical railway signaling, transportation, and industrial automation systems. The role involves defining embedded software architecture, ensuring compliance with international functional safety standards, and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in embedded firmware development, real-time operating systems, and safety-certified product development. This position plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, secure, and dependable embedded solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design embedded firmware architecture for safety-critical applications.
Develop firmware using C/C++ for microcontrollers and embedded processors.
Ensure compliance with IEC 61508, EN 50128, ISO 26262, or similar safety standards.
Collaborate with hardware engineers for firmware-hardware integration.
Perform code reviews and maintain coding standards.
Conduct firmware testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
Support verification, validation, and certification activities.
Prepare technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and design specifications.
