Junior Shop-Floor Systems Technical Assistant

Job Description

The Junior Shop-Floor Systems Technical Assistant will provide day-to-day technical support for IT and digital systems used by manufacturing and shop-floor personnel. The role will assist with workstation, terminal, printer, connectivity, application, and basic industrial system support. The position will work closely with senior IT, OT, automation, and production teams to resolve technical issues and maintain smooth shop-floor operations. This role is suitable for an early-career professional interested in manufacturing technology, industrial IT, and plant support environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide first-level technical support for shop-floor computers, terminals, and peripherals.
Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, connectivity, and application issues.
Assist users with system access, password, workstation, and application-related problems.
Support installation and configuration of approved shop-floor IT equipment.
Monitor basic network connectivity and escalate complex network problems.
Assist senior engineers with OT and industrial system maintenance activities.
Maintain records of technical issues, service requests, repairs, and resolutions.
Support preventive maintenance activities for shop-floor computing equipment.
Help maintain equipment inventories, asset tags, and technical documentation.
Follow established IT, OT, safety, and cybersecurity procedures.
Coordinate with production teams to minimize disruption caused by technical issues.
Escalate recurring or critical problems to appropriate technical specialists.
