Petroleum Engineer
Job Description
The Petroleum Engineer is responsible for supporting the optimization and development of oil and gas reservoirs and production assets. The role involves reservoir and production analysis, well performance evaluation, production forecasting, and identifying opportunities to improve recovery and asset value. The engineer works closely with subsurface, drilling, production, and facilities teams to support safe and economically efficient operations. The position is particularly relevant to BlueNord’s North Sea production portfolio and its focus on maximizing value from operational assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze reservoir and well performance to identify production optimization opportunities.
Develop production forecasts, performance models, and field development scenarios.
Evaluate well inflow, pressure data, production trends, and artificial-lift performance.
Support reservoir management and hydrocarbon recovery strategies.
Conduct production surveillance and identify causes of production underperformance.
Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, drilling engineers, and production teams.
Support well intervention, workover, stimulation, and optimization activities.
Contribute to reserves and resources evaluations and technical reporting.
Assess technical and economic aspects of proposed field-development activities.
Ensure engineering recommendations comply with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
