Cloud Engineer

Job Description

The Cloud Engineer designs, implements, manages, and optimises cloud infrastructure supporting business applications and digital services. The role works with cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build secure, scalable, and highly available environments. The engineer collaborates with software development, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to improve deployment and operational efficiency. The position requires practical experience with cloud architecture, automation, networking, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and manage scalable cloud infrastructure across Azure and/or AWS environments.
Deploy and maintain cloud services, virtual machines, storage, databases, and networking components.
Implement infrastructure-as-code and automation using appropriate technologies.
Support CI/CD pipelines and automated application deployment processes.
Monitor cloud environments for availability, performance, and capacity.
Implement cloud security, access controls, encryption, and governance practices.
Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, connectivity, deployment, and performance issues.
Optimise cloud resources and help control infrastructure costs.
Develop backup, disaster recovery, and business-continuity solutions.
Collaborate with developers, security teams, architects, and IT operations teams.
