Process Engineer – Precious Metals Refining
Job Description
The Process Engineer – Precious Metals Refining is responsible for optimizing and improving industrial processes used to recover and refine precious metals. The role combines process engineering, production support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent plant operations. The engineer works with production, maintenance, laboratory, quality, and environmental teams to identify process bottlenecks and implement improvements. The position also supports process development and scale-up activities while maintaining compliance with operational, environmental, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and optimize precious metals refining processes to improve efficiency, recovery, yield, and product quality.
Analyze process data and identify deviations, bottlenecks, losses, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and implement process modifications to improve plant productivity and operational reliability.
Provide technical support for production teams during process deviations, equipment issues, and operational challenges.
Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring process problems.
Develop process documentation, operating procedures, technical specifications, and engineering reports.
Work with maintenance and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and process availability.
Support trials, pilot activities, commissioning, and scale-up of new or modified refining processes.
Ensure refining operations comply with applicable environmental, quality, health, and safety requirements.
