Iberia is Spain’s national flag carrier and one of the country’s largest and most established airlines. Founded on 28 June 1927, Iberia began its scheduled commercial operations with the Madrid–Barcelona route and has since developed into a major international airline connecting Spain with Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. The airline is part of International Airlines Group (IAG) and is also a founding member of the oneworld alliance, giving its customers access to a broad international network. Iberia currently operates a fleet of around 162 aircraft and serves more than 140 destinations, while its wider partner network provides hundreds of additional connections. The company has more than 10,000 employees, supporting operations across flight services, ground operations, engineering, maintenance, cargo and corporate functions. Iberia continues to invest in fleet modernization, long-haul expansion, customer experience and its Madrid hub as part of its long-term growth strategy.
