Industrial Instrumentation & Control Systems Specialist

Job Description

The Industrial Instrumentation & Control Systems Specialist supports instrumentation, automation, and control systems used in petrochemical manufacturing operations. The role ensures that measurement and control equipment operates reliably, accurately, and safely across production facilities. The specialist works with process engineers, maintenance teams, operations personnel, and automation engineers to troubleshoot and improve control systems. The position also contributes to preventive maintenance, system upgrades, commissioning, and optimization of industrial control infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation and control systems.
Support DCS, PLC, SCADA, SIS, and related automation platforms.
Diagnose failures involving transmitters, sensors, control valves, analyzers, and instrumentation loops.
Perform calibration and verification of critical instrumentation equipment.
Review control logic, instrument drawings, loop diagrams, and technical documentation.
Support preventive and corrective maintenance programs for control systems.
Assist with control system modifications, upgrades, commissioning, and startup activities.
Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to resolve process-control issues.
Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for control optimization.
Support functional testing and validation of safety and control systems.
Maintain instrumentation records, calibration documentation, and maintenance reports.
Coordinate with automation vendors and contractors for specialized technical support.
Ensure instrumentation activities comply with plant safety, quality, and engineering standards.
