Industrial Automation & SCADA Systems Lead

Job Description

The Industrial Automation & SCADA Systems Lead will oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of industrial automation and SCADA systems across manufacturing operations. The role will ensure reliable communication between PLCs, HMIs, SCADA platforms, sensors, and plant control systems. The position will work closely with production, electrical, instrumentation, IT, and maintenance teams to improve plant efficiency and system availability. The role will also contribute to automation upgrades, troubleshooting, cybersecurity practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of industrial automation and SCADA systems.
Configure and maintain PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial control applications.
Monitor automation system performance and resolve production-impacting faults.
Develop and maintain SCADA screens, alarms, trends, reports, and control logic.
Coordinate with electrical and instrumentation teams during system commissioning.
Plan automation upgrades, system migrations, and technology modernization projects.
Maintain technical documentation, system backups, drawings, and configuration records.
Support industrial communication protocols and connectivity between control systems.
Implement appropriate access controls, backups, and cybersecurity measures for OT systems.
Analyze recurring automation failures and recommend long-term corrective actions.
