« 🌴 Did You Know? 🇮🇳 India produces over 20 billion coconuts every year! Coconut farming supports millions of livelihoods and drives multiple agri-industries — from food to fiber. A powerful reminder of how one crop fuels an entire ecosystem. 🥥💼 » Hamad International Airport (DOH) has achieved zero waste to landfill for its Passenger Terminal since March 2025. The airport’s single, expansive terminal spans 845,000 square meters, includes 5 concourses, 62 aircraft gates, and has the capacity to serve over 65 million passengers annually. It is home to more than 70,000 staff, 200 retail and dining outlets, and the ORCHARD—an iconic 6,000-square-meter indoor tropical garden. The elimination of landfill waste within such a high-traffic, complex environment positions DOH among the leading airports globally in waste management performance. This initiative underscores DOH’s commitment to sustainability and aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030. It also provides operational benefits like reduced fuel use, lower carbon emissions, and improved resource recovery.
