Interior Design Manager

Job Summary:

We are looking for a strategic and design-driven Design Manager to lead our interior design team and manage the successful delivery of high-quality residential, commercial, or hospitality projects. The Design Manager will oversee the creative direction, ensure design excellence, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and serve as the key liaison between clients, consultants, and internal teams. This role requires both strong leadership and deep knowledge of the interior design process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the design team throughout all project phases—from concept development to design detailing and implementation.
• Collaborate with clients to understand project goals, budgets, timelines, and brand identity, ensuring all designs meet expectations.
• Oversee the development of conceptual designs, mood boards, presentations, and material selections.
• Review and approve design documentation, including space plans, construction drawings, and FF&E specifications.
• Coordinate with consultants, suppliers, and contractors to ensure design intent is realized accurately on-site.
• Manage project schedules and deliverables, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior designers and project team members.
• Monitor design budgets and support in value engineering processes when required.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and brand guidelines.
• Drive innovation and design excellence across all projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in interior design, including at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Strong portfolio showcasing experience across multiple sectors (residential, hospitality, commercial, etc.).
• Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering tools.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proven experience managing multiple projects and design teams simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of materials, furnishings, lighting, and construction methods.
• Ability to translate client needs into functional, aesthetic design solutions.

Preferred Skills:

• PMP or relevant project management certification is a plus.
• Experience in client presentations and business development.
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles and certifications (LEED, WELL).
• Multilingual or international project experience is an advantage.
