Project Engineer
Job Description
Position Summary
The Project Engineer will play a key role in supporting the technical planning, design coordination, and execution of real estate development projects. With a strong foundation in civil engineering, the candidate will assist in managing site design, permitting, infrastructure development, and construction coordination, ensuring projects meet design standards, timelines, and budget goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, review, and coordination of civil engineering plans including grading, drainage, utilities, and roadways.
- Collaborate with civil consultants, architects, and contractors to ensure accuracy and integration of design documents.
- Support due diligence, feasibility studies, and site investigations for potential development sites.
- Track permitting processes and assist in securing necessary local, state, and federal approvals.
- Monitor construction progress, assist in quality control, and help resolve field-related engineering issues.
- Maintain organized project documentation including RFIs, submittals, schedules, and as-built drawings.
- Support project managers in managing budgets, timelines, and technical deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with zoning codes, environmental regulations, and engineering standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field (Master’s degree a plus).
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in land development, site civil engineering, or real estate construction projects.
- Knowledge of land development processes, municipal permitting, and infrastructure design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office; experience with Procore or other project management tools preferred.
- EIT certification required; PE license (or progress toward licensure) is a plus.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
