Corrosion Prevention and Maintenance: Perform corrosion prevention techniques and routine maintenance activities for all facilities and equipment. Conduct corrosion monitoring, inspections, and preventive maintenance, including cathodic protection checks and evaluation of corrosion inhibitors. Perform metallurgical tests using visual and NDT techniques to assess corrosion status and determine causes of metal failure. Monitor and maintain the effectiveness of corrosion prevention systems, including repairs and modifications as needed. Inspection and Monitoring: Plan and implement inspection activities for static equipment, pipelines, and field facilities. Schedule, perform, and evaluate NDT tests (e.g., ultrasonic, acoustic emission, eddy current) and maintain inspection records in compliance with company standards. Assist in preparing inspection documentation for Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) studies and execute recommendations. Supervise coating, insulation, and fireproofing applications, ensuring quality and adherence to international standards. Corrosion Engineering Support: Provide technical support for corrosion mitigation projects, including advisory services and development of conceptual designs. Coordinate with production personnel and field teams to implement corrosion engineering activities and support field development plans. Assist in developing and reviewing corrosion designs, materials, and specifications, ensuring compliance with company policies. Maintain records of equipment history and monitor equipment performance for continuous improvement. Project Management and Compliance: Support studies on recurring corrosion problems, providing solutions and recommendations to the Maintenance Section Head. Assist in budget preparation (OPEX and CAPEX) for corrosion and inspection activities. Ensure all activities comply with Company Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, and support loss prevention through strict adherence to safety standards. Supervise contractors and consultants, ensuring project completion and quality of work per company requirements. Training and Development: Support the development of national staff through structured training programs. Assist field technicians in establishing and updating corrosion engineering standards and procedures. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit periodic technical reports on inspection findings, corrosion issues, and maintenance activities. Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all inspection and maintenance activities, adhering to company standards.
Construction Monitoring and Compliance: Monitor on-site construction, testing, and pipeline installation activities, ensuring they meet project drawings, specifications, and relevant engineering codes and standards. Conduct daily audits and verifications to ensure subcontractors adhere to quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures and resolve any discrepancies. Support and ensure compliance with the project's Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) Plan and procedures as required by the client. Site Activity Coordination: Oversee and participate in daily site activities, including pipeline stringing, Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), welding, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), cathodic protection installation, pipeline lowering, hydrotesting, gas station work, valve installation, and valve chamber activities. Control and manage welding production activities in accordance with project requirements. Welding Procedure Development: Prepare and develop Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) as per project requirements and international standards (e.g., ASME Sec. IX, API 1104). Arrange and oversee mechanical tests for WPS development, including Charpy Impact, Bend Test, Tensile Test, and NDT. Project Reporting and Support: Provide regular progress updates to project schedulers and management to ensure alignment with project timelines
