Managed the technical side of the tender/FEED compiled by the joint venture between Technip, JGC and Fluor for the Rovuma LNG – Area 4 plant in Mozambique for ExxonMobil. The plant consisted of two LNG compression trains and all ancillary systems including power station, MEG, MOF, BOG, Jetty, LNG tanks, condensate tanks, and utilities. The project, initially developed as a competitive tender, developed as a full and detailed FEED to the point of developing construction methodologies and commissioning procedures for the complete plant, which were revised and approved by the undesigned prior to delivery to the client, and won the project EPC to the JV.

Assessed and completed the detailed design to Norsok standards for the DP3 heavy-lift pipelay and decommissioning vessel Pieter Schelte (now Pioneering Spirit) , including the redesign of part of the marine systems, rework of the safety case and the pipe-lay control system, and defining construction engineering packages with the shipyard. Achievements  The Pioneering Spirit is currently the largest pipe-lay vessel in the world, and the only existing platform decommissioning vessel able to remove topsides and jacket in a single journey, and is fitted with a DP system exceeding the requirements of Class 3.  The design review of the vessel required the study of multiple studies on decommissioning of the North Sea offshore platforms, that the ship had been designed to carry out, and that gave me invaluable information on the state-of-the-art concepts and operational procedures as envisaged by Oil Majors.
