Job Description
- Prepare, proofread, and edit legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery documents.
- Manage and organize case files and legal documents in both physical and electronic formats.
- Ensure all documents are filed correctly and comply with legal standards and deadlines.
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to appropriate personnel.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and court appearances.
- Handle correspondence, including emails, faxes, and mail.
- Conduct basic legal research to assist attorneys in preparing for cases.
- Summarize and organize information gathered during research.
- Assist in the preparation of case files for court proceedings.
- Monitor and manage deadlines and schedules for multiple cases.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal administrative role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with legal software and case management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
