Software Engineer

Job Description

The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable software applications and digital platforms. The role contributes to the development of reliable products and services that support Rightmove’s property marketplace and internal business operations. The engineer works closely with product managers, designers, QA specialists, and other technology teams to deliver high-quality solutions. The position requires strong programming skills, problem-solving ability, and an understanding of modern software development practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications and services.
Write clean, scalable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Participate in the complete software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, QA engineers, and other developers.
Develop and integrate APIs, databases, and third-party services.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects and performance issues.
Conduct code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
Write and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests.
Monitor application performance and support continuous improvement.
Contribute to Agile development ceremonies, technical discussions, and documentation.
