QA/Test Engineer

Job Description

The QA/Test Engineer ensures that software applications meet functional, performance, reliability, and quality requirements. The role involves planning test activities, creating test cases, executing tests, and reporting defects. The engineer works closely with developers, business analysts, and project teams throughout the software development lifecycle. The position may involve both manual and automated testing depending on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze functional and technical requirements to define testing needs.
Develop comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
Identify, document, track, and validate software defects.
Develop and maintain automated test scripts where applicable.
Execute tests across different environments and application versions.
Collaborate with developers to investigate and resolve defects.
Validate software against business and technical acceptance criteria.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to quality planning.
Prepare test reports and provide recommendations for quality improvements.
