Plant IT System Administrator & Security Technician
Job Description
The Plant IT System Administrator & Security Technician is responsible for maintaining IT infrastructure and security systems supporting petrochemical plant operations. The role ensures the availability, reliability, and security of servers, workstations, networks, applications, and related plant IT assets. The position works closely with IT, OT, engineering, and cybersecurity teams to protect operational environments from technology and security risks. It also provides technical support, system monitoring, incident response, and preventive maintenance within the plant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer plant servers, workstations, operating systems, and IT infrastructure.
Monitor system availability, performance, capacity, and security events.
Install, configure, patch, and maintain plant IT hardware and software.
Implement endpoint security, antivirus, access control, and security policies.
Support network connectivity and coordinate with network infrastructure teams.
Investigate IT security incidents and assist with containment and remediation.
Manage user accounts, permissions, access rights, and authentication requirements.
Maintain system backups and support disaster recovery procedures.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation of identified weaknesses.
Maintain IT asset inventories, configuration records, and technical documentation.
Support cybersecurity audits, compliance activities, and security assessments.
Coordinate with vendors and specialist teams for infrastructure and security issues.
