Plant Automation & PLC Programming Specialist

Job Description

The Plant Automation & PLC Programming Specialist is responsible for maintaining and improving industrial automation systems used in petrochemical plant operations.
The role involves PLC programming, troubleshooting, control-system optimization, and integration of automation equipment.
The specialist works with instrumentation, electrical, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure reliable and efficient plant performance.
The position also supports automation projects, system modifications, commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, modify, test, and troubleshoot PLC programs for plant automation systems.
Configure and maintain PLC, HMI, SCADA, and related control-system applications.
Diagnose automation faults and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Support commissioning, startup, testing, and validation of automation equipment.
Integrate PLC systems with instrumentation, drives, control panels, and plant networks.
Review automation logic and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
Maintain accurate PLC programs, control-system documentation, and backup files.
Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams during automation-related breakdowns.
Participate in automation system upgrades and modernization projects.
Ensure automation modifications follow approved engineering and safety procedures.
