Program/Release Manager: Roles and Responsibilities ➢ Responsible for Planning, Scheduling, Coordinating the testing environment, and managing the release deployment window across the project life cycle. ➢ Expertise in Agile project management methodology and software development life cycle. ➢ Managing all phases of project from development to Deployment by ensuring that business deliverables were delivered on time within budget, schedule and quality constraints. ➢ Co-ordinate and work with technical and product teams for preparing the release schedule, Project scope, Release calendars and Release Notes on delivery requirements. ➢ Support and managing all the release related activities like QA, SIT, UAT and Performance testing. ➢ Keeping business stakeholders informed about the progress, timelines, and any potential risks related to releases. ➢ Work closely with Development, QA, and Testing team to ensure the milestones are achieved on time as per the schedule planned for the releases. ➢ Facilitating Weekly Release forum to update the progress on the release and discuss on any risks and blockers. ➢ Communicating the Release status to all key stakeholders on the weekly basis. ➢ Coordinating and tracking the cross-project applications to manage interdependencies during testing and deployment. ➢ Conducting Gate meetings for accessing the exit criteria to reach the Go/No Go decision and go ahead with the agreed way of release. ➢ Raising the change requests for the release and representing it in CAB meetings to discuss on the Release scope and deployment plans. ➢ Lead and coordinate the Go-live activities including release communication, deliverables, and release closure. ➢ Proactively identifying potential risks and issues that could impact the release and developing strategies to mitigate these risks. ➢ Facilitating Scrum of Scrum calls to identify and address the Risks and issues that might hit the progress of work towards release. ➢ Organizes and facilitates Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. ➢ Tracking Risk Management and Mitigation plans during the release cycle. ➢ Initiating the process improvements for operational stability. ➢ Lead and work through the gaps in the Release process and strategies learned from the previous releases. ➢ Documenting release processes, configurations, and procedures to ensure consistency and facilitate knowledge transfer within the team. ➢ Overseeing the actual deployment of software releases to different environments, such as development, testing, staging, and production. ➢ Conducting post implementation review to discuss on the setbacks and issues faced during the release with all the stakeholders and incorporating it for the upcoming releases. ➢ Measure Release KPIs to evaluate the success rate of a release. ➢ Providing continuous improvement plan on release management process for streamlining and ensuring the smooth and successful delivery of software releases.
